The CC & Environment Cluster, together with The Access Initiative (TAI)-Philippines, invites you to a learning symposium on the topic “Familiarizing the Public with Environmental Standards in Air & Water: Public Participation in Environmental Governance” tomorrow, 17 December from 9am-4pm, at the Social Development Complex (SDC) Auditorium.
The symposium hopes to explore ways on how information in laws prescribing environmental standards (i.e. Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act) can be made more understandable, in order to support the concerned public and other stakeholders in natural-resource and environmental decision-making.
There will be presentations from various government agencies and NGOs, as well as sharing of insights and experiences from community members/representatives from:
-Aurora (APECO Farmers)
-Subic & Bataan (re: Coal-Fired Power Plant)
-Angat, Bulacan (re: Tire Pyrolysis)
-Zambales (re: Mining)*
-Las Pinas, Paranaque, Cavite (re: Manila Bay Reclamation)*
